This photo, which dates back to the early 1990s, was taken in the charming town of Leavenworth, Washington, in the mountainous west-central part of the state. Leavenworth felt a bit tacky and cheesy in some ways, as it seemed to try hard to make itself look like a Bavarian village, and in many ways it succeeded.
